Pedal For The Prostate

Did you know that each year 1 in 5 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer? Sadly, that number is increasing each year. If you are a man or have a father or brother or husband or even a male friend, there is a good chance that this disease will affect you if it hasn't already. However, prostate cancer is treatable if detected early. The Movember Foundation is a global organization that helps fund men’s health projects as well as men’s health research while transforming the way health services reach and support men.

This year, Atlanta Sports Recovery & CrossFit Decatur are joining the good fight and hosting the first annual Pedal For The Prostate. Pedal For The Prostate is a 2-hour long fitness competition taking place on November 10th with proceeds going to the Movember Foundation and their efforts. View more details below!

What Is Pedal For The Prostate?

Pedal for the Prostate is a team based Functional Crosstraining Fitness competition. Teams of four (4) will have a total of two (2) hours to compete in the following events:

Hour 1: Assault Bike. Each team will have a total of one (1) hour to ride and accrue as many calories as possible on the infamous assault bike. However, only one member can ride at any given time.

Hour 2: Clean + Jerk, Snatches and Cindy.   Two team members work at a time. Partner 1 will lift as much weight as possible via the Clean & Jerk and/or Snatch. Partner 2 will complete as many rounds of Cindy (5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups, 15 air squats). The other two team members will rest but can "tap in" whenever, wherever they want (including during a round of Cindy, meaning not everyone needs a pull-up). Choose your strategy wisely!

The team with the most calories pedaled + most weight lifted + most rounds of Cindy will win the honorable Keith Cup, which is named in honor of our friend & stage 4 cancer survivor, Keith Milko. The  first place team will also receive a prize bag from the support of our great sponsors.
